Copper is said to be a miraculous metal for its benefits to health and hygiene. On the other hand, the misconceptions related to green rust or blue water are still prevalent. If you think that green rust is toxic, why not look it up in the dictionary? The dictionary too may be outdated and give misleading information! The Japan Copper Center had requested the Tokyo university department to conduct experiments on green rust. The results were reported to the Ministry of Health and Welfare. On the basis of the outcome of this research conducted for over 3 years, the Ministry of Health and Welfare declared in August 1984, that green rust was definitely harmless. Henceforth the dictionaries and textbooks, which have continued to give the outdated information, should be updated.
