the water in the bathtub looks blue as shown in the following picture. |

The
ray of vision in the eye i.e. the visible ray comprehends colors in
the above-mentioned order. If red seems light, the blue will seem dark
whereas if violet seems light, red will look darker.
The original clear water in the bathtub may seem blue if viewed from another position. The intensity of the reflected light of a color depends upon the angle of view. Depending upon the water in the bathtub or the wall material, a small part of the long wave length (Red ) energy is absorbed and when the percentage of blue rays is more, the water seems blue. Similarly, when water from the same source is poured into a transparent or white translucent glass and also in a same colored opaque glass, when observed from the above viewpoint, the water in the opaque glass will look blue.
